Appley Bridge J27 M6. Gives me access to the best of both worlds. Anglesey/North Wales and the Lake District but it does mean I have to travel.

Now I know why The Gurnard uses a sowing machine. I've only sewn the webbing to attach it to the drop nose pins. Took me ages to thread the needle each time and my fingers are killing me, needles are sharp

I'll attach them to the seat base and seat back so it takes some of the strain off the back of the seat.

My fingers are too big for sewing, if I’d been doing that I’d have got some very strong glue or maybe some special crimps. But that’s only because I haven’t got the patience, eyesight and fingers to sew. Lol

I know I'm over reacting, but I was so happy this morning when I walked into the workshop and the SD360 hadn't lost any pressure 60hrs after doing my fist ever repair

I've fitted the bow box and secured it with bungee cord running through the D rings I fitted a couple of days ago. The bungee will also secure any loose kit we're carrying.

Fitted the seats onto the benches and they fit really well, and although small are comfy. I don't think I will need to brace the two benches together to stop any backward tilt. I leaned back as far as I would normally sit and they still feel secure and we will only be using them at slower speeds, time will tell.

Roll on the 12th April

That looks so good Steve.... red and black is always a great combo. I like the low profile of the bow dodger... still convinced I'll need to get the Elling OE one re-made lower by the local guys. Mind you with a tail wind as it is we could probably sail at 8kts.

You can use a Speedy Stitcher - it's quite therapeutic for small jobs.

That looks a great bit of kit. Next time I've got a sewing job I may invest in one - or get someone else to sew it for me

Our, and I bet your local boot & shoe repairer has an overlocker machine which would have made short work of that stitching for a few beer tokens.

He probably has and he probably would, but lockdown dosn't end until the 12th April and I fully intend to be on Ullswater before 10.00am

Thanks Jeff.

I tend to agree. I'm thinking maybe a black, fiberglass console, hugging the tube might fit the bill

Try your local Timpsons, they’re open & usually very accommodating.

Or better buy yourself an old Singer sewing machine from ebay. I got an old hand crank one and apart from it being a work of art it is incredible. I made 2 complete bow dodgers with it and it was great fun

True but look at the speed the singer whips along at.... It is a joy to use... You know you want one

End of Winter Lockdown

So Monday 12th hopefully brings the end of the Winter Lockdown, when we can travel further afield and stay overnight, albeit in self contained accommodation.
Going to Ullswater for 5 nights staying in the caravan and we will get out on the water on a few of the days as it looks like Thor and Freyr are being kind. Hopefully I will get to test a few of the lockdown projects undertaken over the past few months, if successful I will post it here, if not............
