Yamaha 15hp 2 stroke outboard kill switch

Had first outing on recently purchased Bombard 380 with above ob.

Was very enjoyable and glad to have bought it.
Only slight niggle, seems a bit of a pest having to pull the safety cord from the kill switch each and every time you want to stop.
Wondered if there’s any known or recommended retrofits that others have fitted for this?

We are mainly fishing so a lot of moving around and an additional button would be easier. I know some of the more modern ob’s have a button on the end of the throttle grip face, but wouldn’t be easy to retrofit that exactly I’d imagine.

Can of course fairly easily create an additional switch in the circuit, just wondered if someone else has already came up with a good idea!

Thanks

Push the red button on top of the kill switch fork to stop the engine.

Yes a good firm push or you think it's not happening.

Yup, depending on the age and I'm assuming it doesn't ha e the toggle switch but is the red knob pulled out by the cord then you just push the red knob to kill the engine. You have to hold it for it a bit.

Thanks folks, after some wd40 and working the switch it’s now functioning correctly!

On another question, could anyone tell me the rough dimensions of the BAT when folded up? It came with a trailer and have left it on there, but have a long holiday trip planned and intend to fold it up for the journey.
