Zodiac Cadet 285 solid on Davits

Hi

I just bought ä Zodiac Cadet 285 solid and I can't figure out how to lift it on the davits

any suggestions ??

I presume you are talking crane type rather than snap davits ?

It should have a couple of d rings on the bow, and you can fit another couple of ring bolts to the transom, then make a couple of bridles with snap shackles.

Thanks for the reply

there are 2 rings used for towing the tender, but will these be strong enough to hold the weight constantly?

for the transom I have seen that some people add the additional rings next to the engine mount, is this what you mean?

I have a Cadet 285s, although l do not use a lift with it.

Mine has two substantial handles near the rear, at the top of the tubes. Could these not be used to lift the boat?
At the front there is a D ring on the side of the tubes near the bow on each side and these look easily strong enough for lifting.

Yes you can use the front d rings, but the best option is to fit the rings to the transom and fit 2 more ring bolts to the front part of the floor (with a couple of extra braces under the floor).

I wouldnt use the carry handles, I doubt they will take the load of a bouncing dinghy and engine.
