Zodiac damage recommendations

1979 Zodiac GT MK II , I believe Hyaplon

Got a small tear down to fabric during a recent camping trip.

Is a patch the way to go? (what Im thinking) or should I just Aquaseal it?

Should be Hypalon in that vintage, plus the valve reinforcement has black underneath it, and it looks like Hypalon. An appropriate patch with the right glue would fix it right up and not a big deal. Maybe a couple "wear" patches around that area on both sides for uniformity, carrying further down the tubes where folks would step, etc.
