Zodiac Virage

Hi everyone, I brought a zodiac Virage earlier this year and love it. I am looking for any information on the Virage range I can't seem to find anything online? It seems identical to Futura MK2 c? Does anyone know if the floors are interchangeable between the Virage and Futura MK 2 c?

Thanks!

Welcome to the forum.

Every day is a school day - never heard of a Virage, I'm guessing it was an early successor to the Futura, possibly built early 90s.

Check the build plate on the transom as that will give you the year of manufacture. Material will be Strongan Duotex - basically Zodiac's own PVC material. I see Chas Newens still sell speed tubes for it.

In terms of sizes - floors should be interchangeable with Grand Tourism and Futura at MKIIC size, with the bow board, thrust board having opening for the keel valve, then three interlocking floor sections. The aluminium floors (HD) are nigh impossible to source separately and if you can find them, they will command your kidney as payment. They are held in place with two stringers either side.

Post up some pictures - would be interested to see it.

Hi Matt, welcome to the forum.

Like Spartacus this was a new name to me and I thought I knew most of the Zodiac inflatable models from the 70s to date.

I can't add much really. I guess you have found the one for sale in Germany online and the Facebook ad from the USA to get a look at other examples? I note the German one was from 1994.

Quite like the grey/red look.

Thanks everyone for your help, glad to see it's not just me who doesn't seem to know anything about it!

I have attached a few photos, the boat has been pretty heavily customised by one of the previous owners. It has been converted into a surf rescue style boat, it has a 2 piece fibreglass floor and has had re righting lines and drainage trunks fitted.

Looks quite cool... except I'd remove the Surf Rescue so I didn't feel extra obligated or cause any misunderstanding... but perhaps that's just me.

What size is the Tohatsu?

And you mentioned changing the floor, doesn't that one work for you?
