Athens Boatshow
Just got back from a great trip to the Athens boatshow - really fascinating and quite a show. My trips to Greece are always really good - but this was my first time to the Athen show. Really impressive amount of RIBs (major part of the show) , Greek produced and imported. Makes RIBEX seem very small and a bit dull - although a very different typre of show.
Many interesting craft - lots of cabin RIBs, steps very common, hard noses pretty much normal and some times hard sterns - in some cases tubes are partly GRP for all the length!
Overall the level of detailing and features were some way ahead of most British manufacturers. Plug / mould work was often more complicated and there was much more adventure in the craft produced. For me soem things worked and some did not - but I certainly saw more being attempted than I do in the UK.
