15' RIB in Irvine

Hello!

My name is Darren. I recently picked up a 15' Nouv from a friend. The boat is old, and pretty beat up. Whoever had it before re-skinned the tubes in PVC. There are a few small air leaks. I am hoping to get this rig back into good shape, put a decent 50hp on the back end and use it for diving and fishing in the few areas we have left to fish on the CA coast. I will also be taking her down to Baja as often as I can.

I am looking at all of the threads I can find on using Bilxley's Toobseal, Tuff Coat, Plastiseam...to stop the pin hole leaks. Eventually, I want to fill the tubes with HD Expanding foam. Although, I need to do a lot of research before I do anything.

My boat's name is the Sopwith Camel.

Well, that is just a quick intro.

Thanks,
Darren

Welcome fellow SoCal member!

I can tell you we are starting to get more and more member of the forum in SoCal.
You boat look pretty good.
I am not sure how well the different tube paints work but I do know that a few people here have used them with varying results.
As for filling the tubes with foam, DONT DO IT! The foam is impossible to get evenly distributed and you will most likely bust your tubes. It has been tried before and no one has had a positive report.
Read as much info on this site as you can. it has a wealth of info and all the members are really helpful.
Good luck!
