Hi welcome!
Tell us which year/model engine and the prop markings and we can give it you theoretically. Others (and you) can then say what is achieved in real life.

People often claim this or that when it's simply not possible with what they've got. It's determined by max rpm, gearbox ratio and prop pitch.

Hi Pete,
Good to hear of another XS owner.
I too have an XS 550. It has a Mercury 90 Optimax. Good looking RIBS for sure. I particularly like that the fuel tank & fuel lines & all cables are concealed & hidden under the floor. My last RIB had cables everywhere and mobile fuel cans. I hated that.

I would expect you will get about 36 Knots and I suspect the largest motor for that boat would be a 70hp but a 60hp is fine. The max motor should be stated on the plate fixed on the transom
