Evening all

Not new to boats - we've just sold a motor cruiser which we've had for a number of years - but new to owning a RIB. We've just ordered a new Brig Nav 570; Mrs Rousseau and I did our PB2 in a small RIB and we always enjoy doing safety boat duty at the yacht club. We realised that we didn't need a floating caravan (we live by the sea and are about 15 mins from the marina) and wanted to be much more in contact with the water. We're planning to keep her in the marina and use her all year round.

So we've pulled the trigger - she should arrive in about 8 weeks. Excited? Moi? Feels like Christmas Eve.

Cheers!

I can’t comment on the boat as I’ve never been in one, my only issue is keeping any rib in a marina is difficult with the tubes especially if they sit in the water. They are a major antifoul problem!
You could use a tetradock or similar.

Aye. Absolutely! We’ll coppercoat the hull and keep an eye on the tubes regularly. Aquadock mooring fees are eye watering where we are - chunk more than a 32ft boat (for a 5.7 metre rib). Pee taking me thinks.

Ouch - coppercoat is great though, just get the hull pressure washed in the spring.
Thanks to lockdown (my excuse) I’ve spent about 30% more on fuel than I needed to this year and the speed was down 6 knotsish!?!
That includes a trip from Cowes to Dartmouth and back - Bellend [emoji51][emoji47][emoji15]
