From Holland with inflatables...
Oi there all,
I am Chris, 20 y.o. and live approximatly 1 metre below the sea surface in The lovely Netherlands. In case the crap hits the fan and the sea tries to reclaim this, I equipped myself with a German-made SIB; DSB 'Zephyr' 504.
By the time I got hold of it, it had been in off-shore use most of his live yet very well maintained. I've rigged it with an 40 Hp Mercury Sea Pro outboard.
For those interested; it's technically the same inflatable as used by The Dutch Royal Marines Corps for small-troop amphibious operations.
It's primary use is for recreational boating of course. Appart from that, i've used this SIB in a kind of Military Simulation event as a try-out.
(Note; all 'weapons' as can be seen on the picture below in this post are just replica's of the real thing, and unable to inflict serious damage, it's just part of the sport.)
However, I have some issue's with this SIB, which I will adress in the near future on this great forum!
My second project is something I guess is an Avon SR4..as seen on the third picture. (anyone?)
