Greetings

Hi, just joined up. Saw some video footage on YouTube about the RIBnet trips along the Scottish West Coast. I'm currently a 14 foot Orkney owner but am considering maybe a wee little project for some extra fun. Cheers

Hi Coastie and welcome to the forum.

Going back a bit I had a 5m simulated clinker GRP "Pebble" small fisher type boat with cuddy. Then I moved via a 4m GRP Bonwitco to inflatables and they've suited me in the ten years since.

Mine is an Orkney Coastliner 14 with cuddy. Feel a bit of an interloper here, but the information pertaining to smaller engines and boats is better than I've found on other forums. Cheers

Don't worry about not owning anything with tubes... it may come in time.

Which part of the Scottish coast is your boating area?

North East but head across to Oban and West when I can. Main draw back up here is limited number of usable slips.

That's the bit I know least well having only taken holidays on the East side without a boat... at the top end (Golspie) and bottom (St Andrews).

Welcome Coastie. Anywhere near Montrose by any chance. Good launching from Ferryden beach, car park right next to beach and some parking above beach for car and trailer too, deep water for launch and retrieve at any tide state.

Further up near Granite City. Like the look of your outfit there, I saw a video of a fellow launching and recovering a RIB from the beech at Ferryden and thought it looked good. Like you I'm into fishing. Other options on this side include Stonehaven, Cruden Bay and Peterhead. Or North coast. Cheers for the welcome mate.
