Greetings!
Greetings all!
I will thank you all in advance for what I'm sure will be outstanding expertise and advice. To say that I was new to the rib concept would be an understatement. I am a USCG licensed master captain with over 40 years experience... On every possible vessel except a rib.
As part of my charter excursions I have always wanted to have a vessel that could easily approach the beach and inlet side of masonboro Island, an uninhabited barrier island. I so enjoy sharing our area with visitors and exploring everything that our amazing coastal environment provides, with emphasis on conservation and bringing the youngsters up properly in our unique way of life.
Which brings me to my latest acquisition... An Avon 6.5 SR, she is a retired USCG rescue boat. It has been ignored for about 20 years. As you can see in the photos she does need some tender love and care.
Thank you all again in advance for your consideration, I'm sure I will be reaching out with lots and lots of questions... Which brings me to my first: does anyone know where I can find an operator's manual on how this crazy thing is supposed to be laid out?
Cheers!
