Greetings!!!

Hi

Quick introduction, My name is Greig I’m 51 and from West Midlands. Bought a wav eco 2.3 with a Tohatsu outboard in 2016 2nd hand. Didn’t have a clue about boating but have since studied it quite a bit. First took the boat out in 2016 using the slipway at Shell island.

Struggled a bit to tilt the outboard into the water at first but once completed had an amazing experience. Didn’t stop out too long on the water as was worried about the tide going out and being stuck!
I do test the outboard annually in a wheelie bin and haven’t used it since. I am about to use it in a few days on the water in Wales. Tested the outboard and it’s fine. Cleaned the dinghy and I’m all set. Can’t wait!

Hi and welcome to the forum. I assume that's Shell Island just south of Harlech. Not somewhere I'd ever come across before, looks really interesting. Lots of shallows at lower tides. Do you launch at the slip into the yacht basin when it's full of water?

Shell Island Slipway

Yes, I launched from the slipway on shell island. Think you need to pay first but I didn’t know at the time.

Hi Greig and welcome.

You've taken me back a bit mentioning Shell Island. It must be 35 years since I've camped there, is it still the largest camp site in the UK? Got to be honest, not my scene! might have been the time of year but I need more than 4 hours of sleep each night!
I had a Laser at the time and I can remember it being very shallow in places but enjoyable all the same.
I am assuming you have all the safety kit you need, as you've studied quite a bit.
You don't say what your OB is?
