Greetings for Ontario canada
Hi everyone, I have been a fan of inflatable boats from the first ride in my Zodiac back when I was a kid, now I find myself still enjoying them, just picked up another rib and I am greatly enjoying it! I am happy I found rib.net

New member myself. just picked up a 2003 Yachtline 420 with a 2005 50 HP Mercury 4 stroke last Monday and headed to Burleigh falls Ontario. Boat was Awesome. Fast and took the water great! One issue. forward spray from lower unit....especially if trimmed down. Is this a trate of this hull? Or is the motor just mounted to low?? It is one inch up off the transome now and wants to cavitate in corners I can't imagine how bad the cavitation would be if it was another inch higher? Ihate the idea of only being able to drive this in a bathing suit. just doesn't sound right?

Hi there, sounds like we are not far from each other i am out in bobcaygeon. So you trim down to stop the bouncing and you are getting splashed from the motor? That's strange. Mine sits on the transom i wonder if that extra inch is working against you?

Go Bigley's! We had lunch at what used to be the Big Tomatoe last week. Love the town. We went to Fenolin Falls First for Cliff jumping. I grew up on Lower Buckhorn. I may try going down first then. We got home Tuesday at 12:30 AM and I have not had a chance to take off the motor toter and check the level of the Cavitation plate with the bottom of the hull. What motor does yours have? This is my first 4 stroke and it is very efficient, but for performance out of the hole it does not compare to a good old two stroke.

Bigley's hahaha woo!
I did not know fenelon falls has any cliffs to jump from that's cool! My dingy has a older yamaha 40hp 2 stroke on it i would think the 4 stroke would be nice i burn lots of fuel.

The cliffs are on the left and right as you approach the lock. 1000' back or so. The powerline crossing is where you jump from on the right roughly 30' and across the chanel is at least 40'. Both are easily accessed by road as well. Thank you again for the info. I confirmed my Cavitation plate is even or just above the bottom of the hull so I will call a Zodiac dealer to get some direction since I have the Merc. Sincerely, Drew

I will be lowering it tomorrow. Just have not had time yet. I called a Michigan dealer and they called Mercury. They said the Cavitation plate for that motor is to be level to 1" below the bottom. I am even to just above. The dealer I called said they had recently had one in for service and it ran totally dry and he remembered the motor being directly on transom. Thank you for Asking. I will post when water test is completed. Weather permitting tomorrow as well.
