Hello 👋

Hello Everyone. The sun is shining and the start of our boating season is nearly here - can’t wait to get back out on the water!

Hi, we only go to Wales with our boat. Can’t really think of anywhere suitable (and safe) to launch from around here. When I did my Power Boat Level 2 course, I saw people launch their boats/dingy’s in front of West Kirby Sailing Club, but not sure if you have to pay/be a member though? Not much help, sorry - if I hear of anywhere in the future, I will add to this message. Thanks

I believe you can launch from New Brighton - there’s a jet ski club that do and I have seen much larger trailers there in the past. I researched it a while ago and seem to remember you needing to buy a permit from somewhere in the town.

But to be honest for the sake of an hours drive you won’t beat the Menai straights and the lovely sandy beaches and rugged coves of Anglesey.

Generally speaking you can choose east or west coast depending on the weather, or stay in the straights if it turns foul. If your lucky you may even come across the dolphins.
