Im often in Chapmans Pool in the summer weekends having a snooze on the Rib or reading a book, I often swim ashore for a walk along the beach, if you send your mobile number via private message I can text you if I spot any decent items of driftwood washed up. The other place I would recomend but its a tad further is Lyme Regis if you head to the east from Lyme Regis past the newly constructed sea defences you get to an area that I think must have been some sort of rubbish dump many years back, as the cliffs have collapsed the beach area is littered with interesting scrap metal and old wood, bits of very old cars other junk and bits of decent aged wood, old tree trunks etc.
