Hello from Doncaster

I'm a newbie to the site some really knowledgeable people with great advice.
At the moment I've got a seago 2.9 with a Suzuki df4 but I'm looking to upgrade to something like a 3.85 sib and something like a 20 hp outboard any advice would be appreciated
Thanks Gibb

Gibb ,
Welcome to RIBnet ! The sibbing section has been pretty busy just recently with exactly the sort of issue you are talking about ! It would probably help if you told our experienced sibbers exactly what you want to be able to do with your new outfit . Coastal or inland , how many passengers and what size they are ? Are you an angler or just a cruiser ? If you know what you want to achieve , it may be possible to get it right first time.....

Experiment with the search function and perhaps look at the recent threads by Katie.Harker !

So let us know , and safe boating to you . Bern

Hello Gibb and welcome to the forum... as you say plenty of experience here to draw on.

I'd have a read through the "Which SIB" sticky in the Inflatable Boat forum then in that same forum put up a post with some more specific details about your use as BH above and Jeff below say... launch locations beach or slipway... packing in car or trailing... how many folks you take out... budget new or used etc... so we can give more specific advice.

Hi thanks for the replies
At the moment we just usually go on rivers we did go to ullswater last year with my set up and weather turned and it struggled a bit, now I would like to tour round Scotland and Lake District and we have family in Lee on Solent so would like to take boat down there.
I tow a 5 foot by 4 foot trailer behind our Motorhome Click image for larger version

This carries our boat the outboard and whatever else we take away with us.
There's usually me and the boss but sometimes we have grandkids with us and as for fishing never really thought about it but who knows especially with grandson and maybe tow a ringo when he gets a bit older.
Looking forward to any replies and advice
thanks Gibb
