Hello from Orange County....Essex

Afternoon all... Being a newbie from Essex and only knowing fishing marks to visit with a few mates, has anyone got any spots around the Essex Kent coast to visit with my other 'arf and the litt'luns?
Also, does anyone know how to work out top speeds for insurance quote?
90hp 2t Mariner on Avon 5.4 Searider

Cheers all!

Al.

Is that the slip next to the pub at Essex marina?

Yeah think so. Haven't been up there yet, but I know it's either something to do with or close to the marina...

I generally go from BYH across the river. My most frequent short trips are up and down the crouch, the roach, the blackwater. If I've got a bit more time I'll go to the blackwater, harwich/Felixstowe. Following on from this is Chatham followed by London although that's not practical as a day trip.

Peter.

Sorry it's been a while Pete...you say you go from Burnham, I've heard conflicting issue with the crouch... Is it 8kts up until a 'marker' of sorts or once clear of the last boat in the marina no limit? Also, is there much of an issue with outer firing range at Shoeburyness? I'm going to be heading to north Kent and could do without the journey out and around the danger area...

Cheers,
Al.

Hi,

The 8 kn limit is only in the moorings which is understandable. I've never had a problem with the firing range at shoeburyness, I don't think it's used much as a range these days but mostly for ordnance disposal.
