Hello from Prestatyn

A big hello from sunny Prestatyn I am the commodore of Prestatyn sailing club here at Barkby Beach http://www.prestatynsailingclub.co.uk/
Ignore the name as we are made up of 150 power boats 20+ skis and 3 sail boats
I have a warrior 175

and also a
7.2 rib not sure of the make
its fitted with a Suzuki 140 with very low hours engine is a 95 has not been used for over 4 years as the boat was stored in the isle of Man by last owner who was just to busy to use

Geoff

That sounds like an extremely sensible way to run a sailing club - much better than my local one! Keep up the good work...

I hope I'm mistaken, but that looks very like a Ferryman RIB. If all identifying marks have been removed, I'll bet it is too!

(Welcome to RIBnet, BTW)

That explains it. "Ferryman Boats" bought South Down Marine in 2001 and moved production to Derry. The designs were sound enough but Ferryman were cutting corners on some of their builds. I've heard nothing about quality at South Down Marine - which I guess is good. That ties in nicely with the IOM, them being next door and all...

Here's one Ferry built - she used to belong to a friend of mine, before Bad Things happened to her...

You're welcome. She should be fine - the problems were at Ferryman Boats. My friend spoke very highly of her type, handling wise and he had a similar sized engine (Opti). You'll enjoy her.

Some info on the relationship between Ferryman Boats and South Down Marine here, page 12 and beyond.

Ferryman Boats - not relevant to your RIB, but interesting nonetheless.
