Hello from the outer hebrides, Scotland.

Hello everyone. I've just joined and will need some advice. I've just bought a Honwave MX350. 2nd hand of course. Needs a good clean up and a few patches. I can handle that side of it. What i'm clueless about though is the drainer. Can you tell me how i can have this wide open when washing out the dinghy. Thanks.

Hi and welcome. Don't know if it's the same drain on the Honwave but on the 2 sibs I've had you can "carefully" take out the rubber disk which helps to drain it a little faster when washing your Sib. It's then just a matter of remembering to push it back in when you've finished.

Hi and welcome to the Fortum. Is the MX350 the alloy floor 3.5m that is often called the T35AE? If so I had one a few years back and it was a really solid and stable SIB.

Re the drains they are a bit slow on all SIBs... if you need a good wash through I usually lean the SIB against a wall or get a helper to balance it on the cones so I wash out over the transom. If you've got loads of sand in it's the only way.

Yeah Fenlander, an aluminium floor. I think it's probably an earlier version of the one you mentioned (2014?). I need to clean her up, at least 1 small patch and remove and replace the seat strap patches. A bit daunting but i'm up for it. She'll take a 15 horse apparently but that's for another day........ Thanks for your advice!!

Yup I flip ours & rest the bow on a wheelie bin & get underneath with the hose pipe. It helps if you deflate the floor too, this gives more clearance between the tube & floor join, where sand always seems to accumulate.

PS welcome to Ribnet, you'll never leave
