Hi.

Hi all.
Thankyou for allowing me to join the group.
I have worked on boats since I was 6 and am nearly 60 now. I have helmed, skippered, cox'd and tested ribs and other craft for thirty years, in addition to Merchant service, HSSC's, North sea rescue and instructor both private and commercial.

Hi.
Helm, steering position of any vessel, often done by a quartermaster/AB, under instruction from a Master, Pilot etc.
Cox, short for coxswain. Usually in charge of a service vessel, ie lifeboat, Police launch, Pilot boat, defence agencies and groups.
Skipper. Master of a vessel, generally though not restricted to smallish vessels with near coastal capabilities, though in reality and master can be reffered to as Skipper!!
