Hi all - I'm obsessed with Ribcraft

Hello all. I've been reading the forum for a while, finding loads of interesting and helpful advice, and finally pulled my finger out and joined.
Have loved RIB's for as long as i can remember, still regret selling my RC 5.85 in 2005, have had an RC 4.85 for the last 10 years which is fantastic, but am itching for a bigger one again !
I'm dreaming of cruising to the Scilly Isles from North Cornwall (been watching Harry Dwyer on Youtube - he's rebuilt a Searider and is going around the UK in stages - awesome [https://harrydwyer.com/] and Wales and Scotland.
I don't really want to sell the RC 4.85 as my kids are teenagers and it's a perfect boat for them to learn on, but for skiing and wakeboarding, and cruising, i'd like something bigger and a bit more powerful.
Ideally i'm after a Ribcraft 5.85,6.4,6.8, but have been wondering whether i should look at Humber Ocean Pro as well - some of the older posts suggest Humber used to be inferior, but have they improved ? I love the way both my Ribcrafts have handled, and have never driven any other RIBS as fast or which give the feeling of safety and control.
I'm aiming for second hand, but also wondering if an old engine will be false economy if it needs replacing soon (and i'm not very practical at fixing anything!)
Anyway, keep up the good work everyone, and all thoughts / guidance advice - will be really appreciated.
Thanks to to you all. Jimmy

That’s just a malicious rumour. What happens in Dun Loaghaire stays in Dun Loaghaire [emoji6]

Absolutely, you don't have enough, and just when your getting to the elusive point that you do have enough - either the salt kills it, or it's time to upgrade

Who says electronics and salt water don't work well together

Generally I’m not either, in a “fake” lifeboat way but a few are good looking and this is one I would go for if funds allowed, the console is cluttered and a more modern approach would be dual linked screens that both show chart, engine, ais, dsc and other data As configured (gives an element of redundancy simplifies wiring and cleans up the console but beggars at this price point can’t be choosers...... rib is now on here also https://www.rib.net/forum/f21/ribcra...ale-84905.html
