Hi. And a question

Hi there. Im looking at getting a RIB this month. I did have a Honda Honwave T40 that I have just sold and I am looking for something bigger. My mate is selling his RIB and I am pretty tempted. Although finding it hard to tell if its a good deal or not ?

Its a 5.1m Tornado Hull. It was re tubed in the thicker quality Hyperlon 18months ago. He has had the inside sprayed with black not stick. It has a 75hp Merc 2 stroke, very good condition low hours. A good condition trailer.

He wants £4k.

Does that sound about right.

I came across a price guide table on this forum a while back but don't seem to be able to find it anymore.

Thanks in advance.

might be the photos but those tubes look older than 18 months. Where was it retubed - could be £3+k for good quality tubes on that size anyway.

I've been around a while and don't ever recall one. Some VERY rough estimates A good trailer is worth £500?. A good engine that size at least £2000?. A reputable 5m hull with OK tubes at least £2000?. So assuming its all in good condition then its probably an OK price.

Great info. Thanks.

He had the Tubes done at Tilley Inflatables (tidel.biz) In Totnes, Devon. They have gone a bit dull in the sun but a small area he cleaned with tubebrite came up like new ?

OK. So it sounds like not a bad deal then.

Great. Thanks !

Paul Tilley posts on here from time to time. They are highly regarded tube markers. So assuming they are indeed only 18 months old and everything else adds up I think it is at least a fair price.

Good engines those. And if tubes verified as 18mths old indeed a very good price.
