Hi from the Clyde

I have just joined the forum as I am going to buy a Sib for inshore fishing. I had a pilot 460 but sold it due to lack of use. I have a motorhome with a large rear garage so I will get something that will fit inside and be easy to launch.

I am used to big ribs having been on the Helensburgh lifeboat for 12 years. I am not on the crew anymore but I am still the boats mechanic. (been the mechanic for about 9 years).

Anyway thanks for all the info on here. I just need to decide what sort of floor type I want and I will get the boat.

John

Ps love the new fish and chip that you have in helensburgh that sells things like monkfish, scallops etc. Makes a nice change to have a gourmet takeaway!

Thanks Dave

I plan to come and see you at the boat show although if I am not doing anything I may come to the fishing show. I am glad they have moved as I have not been to the angling center since they were at their old place where I got my car window smashed in the 10 minutes it took to buy some new line.

I'm thinking of a honwave and a 2 stroke would be ideal. Just need to check what size would suit best and what floor.

John

If you are into fishing the megastore event is amazing and everyone will be there i.e. paul young, mike thrussell (top bloke) etc. More of a fun day out atmosphere with some very knowledgeable people.

The inverkip/ scottish boat show has a different feel but there will be a huge food hall, top gear sim, us demoing honwaves and lots of "if only I win the lottery" boats!

oh and just so you know I am big bloke with glasses normally found with a coffee and a fag in hand!

Hi Sailrepair, and welcome.
Maybe see you at Scottish Boat Show.
Hope to get over for a day or two, weather permitting. Not been able to get out these last three weeks with the rough weather.
