Hi guys

Another newbie here and have just bought one of those 3D Tenders for pottering along the local canal. Nothing serious, and now mulling over what sort of engine to hang on the back of it. Electric or petrol?
Inflated for the first time earlier but, what on earth is this little gadget that came with it for?

Hi and welcome to the forum. That's a valve spanner.

If you have the budget an elec OB is highly suited to the river. We are near the river and if awe spent a bit more time on it I'd go straight for one of the elec OBs with integral battery... i.e. not one that takes a separate heavy leisure battery.

Small petrol OB much cheaper to buy though.

Thanks.

Yeh, those integral electric outboards are expensive. Cheaper in time maybe, and still not totally sold on the electric outboard with a separate battery. As petrol outboards they are about the same price for a decent (2.5hp) one it might be a no brainer.

Hi and welcome Pops Thompson.
I saw a small sib (Northern Diver, not S&R Orange!) with an epropulsion 1kw on the local canal at the weekend. It pushed it along nicely, but very pricey at £1800.
