Yes a big welcome. Make sure you use all the info stored in the search facility and don't be shy to ask specific questions. Happy boating when you get what you want.

Secondly - stop teasing us - what's your outboard?
The engine section is awash with info. If you are looking fora new one for the boat, the maker's plate will be a good start for max HP and if it's new enough - weight.
I had a Microplus for a very short time. I shan't go into it too much as it wasn't a fabulous experience.
From memory Microplus 501s are rated for 85hp., but most are short shaft only and I really wouldn't stick more than a 50 on them. They're VERY old now and they were rated for the old crank-rated light 2 strokes.
Helpful hint... Don't EVER shut the throttle totally from full speed without turning the boat as well or you're liable to have your own wash swamp the outboard.

Thanks for the welcome! I have a Mariner 40hp pull start on the Microplus. Needing to fit a kill cord. We have had lots of fun with the boat on rivers, not been brave enought to go out to sea yet!
