Long time no speak
Not a new member, just an old one resurfacing after several years but thought I'd better say hello here before venturing into the wider forums. I suspect I have a fair bit of catching up to do!

Welcome back to the forum.
A few things have changed since you were last on. The US president is currently forming policy with Kanye West also known as Ye, and his partner in crime Kim Kardashian.
To avoid being sent to Coventry (I've never been to Coventry, but Im sure it's lovely), it's best to avoid any reference to auxilliary engines, 2-stroke vs 4-stroke, making your own prop guard out of an empty can of tuna, and cleaning your tubes. Anything else is fair game.

And as I’m sure NSS recalls to avoid a ban - no mention of religion or politics!

Welcome back. Is it three years since the Great Facebook Exodus already? I'd have to say that while some things may have moved on - you haven't changed one tiny bit: http://www.rib.net/forum/f31/ribnet-...tml#post651011

Don't do farcebook. Never have, never will, so no idea about any exodus, though it did seem very quiet on here.
Hey ho, if the welcome back is indicative of how things have 'moved on' then I guess there's little for me to catch up on after all.

Thanks Dave, but I think maybe I'm better off in the wilderness.

Maybe if political or alternative conversations did take place it would liven the place up instead of the same questions being asked

Right, I'll try again.
Hi all, long time no speak. Been away from the forum for 3 years or so (not as part of any exodus to farcebook, I must have missed that) as I've been building a new home for me and Mrs NSS. Long story short, she has some 'challenging' health conditions and the house I've built is designed to make life a little more bearable, and to adapt as her conditions progress.
Still finishing bits off but we've been in for a while now and I even managed to get out on the rib a couple of times late in the season (for the first time in over two years). However, it was clear that Mrs NSS's conditions have progressed to the point where getting in and out of the rib is difficult. I've been mulling for a while but have concluded that she has to go (the rib, not Mrs NSS), for two reasons. 1) I'd worry how she (and I) would cope if we had an incident out on the water, and 2) going out without her just wouldn't feel right.
So, not wishing to just appear from nowhere after so long and place a for sale advert, I thought I'd reintroduce myself first. Okay, most of you will have no interest in buying my Walker Bay, but someone might.
Anyway, I'll leave it a couple of days, and so long as no-one objects (well, no-one that matters anyway ), I'll post details.
Cheers

Sorry you’re having to sell up, and hope things work out OK for you both. You’re welcome to post your ad, no problems.

Thank you John/Lee
Sadly the chances of improvement are slim to none, but the new home provides a climate and air quality that should at least delay/slow the rate of decline sufficient that we can still look forward to some relatively good years to come.
