New member- Hurricane 540
Hey all,
This seems to be a great little community. Just bought our first boat, hurricane 472, in June. Super fun experience for the family, but we wanted something larger with a little more power for surf trips. So, come October, we purchased a hurricane h540 with 2011 DF100A. Super fast and fun boat, should be great for the family. Haven’t used it yet as we’re not sure if it’s a winter boat, but I can’t wait for spring. The motor has about 600 hours on it, tubes are 2019 with 40ish hours, a little spider web cracking in the bow locker, but overall in pretty good condition for a 1988 model.
Just had a few questions for everyone:
-what should I do to the motor (top priorities)
-should I be coating the hull with something?
-how does the zodiac self bailing deck system work?
Most Importantly: looking for a t-top type system with seating for 4. Any ideas? What’s the price looking like? And do I need to replace the jockey?
New so just wasn’t sure if anyone else might have already changed their zodiac to a center console, as I have no idea what that process might look like.
I’ll also attach a picture of our zodiac 472 as we’re thinking of selling that soon.
