New Member - New Owner

Hello all,

I am a new member and a new member of an Avon Searider 5.4. Not sure what age as I can't find an ID number and the seller didn't have any papers. The rib is fitted with a 2001 Mercury 90. Needs a bit of work, nothing major but I have some plans for it. A good little project... if I ever get the weather to work on it.

Cheers

Welcome th3chi3f to Ribnet. It can be ever so useful for posing Qs to some highly experienced members.

Great stuff. Ive driven ribs through my work for years but never as an owner. Never driven an Avon but my research led me to believe they are great boats.
I dont know how old it is as I cant find an ID on the transom or under the bow as most posts I have found suggested. I have been informed there may be a number under the rub strake but thats a lot of work to look for a number.

Shes currently in the standard rescue orange with two seatposts on the centreline. I will be removing the aft one. There is an internal fuel tank that has been taken out of service, I plan to test that and reinstate it if possible. I will most likely antifoul the hull black and redo the gelcoat on the transom and console in white. Few patches to redo on the tubes but nothing too major.

Thoughts and tips from other SR5.4 owners are welcome.

The hull /tube number can also be on the front tube right side on the inside (not inside the toob)
The transom number should have been on the offside part of the transom. if the toobs are original then it will be the same number, there maybe two small holes on the transom where the plate was
