Hi all,

Been lurking here a while, especially looking at the various searider rebuild treads.

I have a 1984 SR4, rescue spec with original everything. The Tubes are perfect, no patches, as the boat was always under cover. The gelcoat underneath could do with some love but as the transom has never been drilled I think that it should be ok. I had a 25hp Yam 2-stroke on it but it has a porous block / head gasket issue I think and was in poor shape when I got it. In any case its not man enough for the boat. Also the trailer is knackered.

So, any ideas on how best to re-commission on a budget are welcomed.

Welcome.

You'll be in good hands here - tons of previous on SR rebuilds so I'd start with a good search back down the years. Check some of Matt H's rebuilds for inspiration.
