New member with SR4 but wants more!

Sounds a bit like a dodgy ad!

Anyway, I live in Jersey, and have always been on the sea in one shape or form, but its only in the last few years I have got into boats.

After a rather bad buy (don't ask!), I got an Avon SR4 with a 3 year old Yamaha 40 on it, and last year we were out nearly every night on that thing!

But its the channel islands, so it does get pretty choppy.

One of the things I liked about the Avon was how easy it was to use, and particularly, easy to launch. But I would like a slightly larger boat that handles the weather better when we get caught out!

So I think Im after a 5-5.5m boat that easy to launch, and happy to take any suggestions!

hey...welcome to the madness!

what sort of budget you looking at?

2 or 4 stroke?

if you plan to sell the sr4 i am sure it will sell very easily, they are well sought after.

cheers

RIBase
Can't beat side by side jockeys on this RIBcraft 585 for space and that 'big boat' feeling.

Humber Destroyer 5.3m with old school Yammie 100hp 4-stroke carb model. Looks tidy.
Number Destroyer, fort william - FAFB

Avon 5.4m rib. Possible project to tidy up.
Avon Searider Sr5.4, Central Scotland - FAFB

Welcome to the forum by the way.

Cheers for the welcome!

4 stroke or a modern 2 stroke- i take the kids and need the reliability.

been offered a humber attack 5.5 with a 60 4 strke yamaha which looks nice, but i read varied things regarding the hull in rough water, and thats the smallest engine on there.

I like the larger seariders but cant seem to find many jn decent condition- i rally as well as having a family etc so dont need another project lol

Hey grantcollins74, I'm also from Jersey so know the waters pretty well. Humber are not as agile as seariders but they sure do hold their own it choppy waters and I would back anyone who suggested this as a good RIB to get. Where do you usually launch from?
