New to Rib.net

I’ve been stalking Rib.net for a while now and finally decided to join. Lots of great info here! I have a Zodiac Futura Mark 2. I use it for spearfishing and rod and reel fishing off the coast of California. Click image for larger version

Welcome to the forum from me too... a fellow sibber and someone who has nearly bought a Futura a few times but never quite got there.... and now probably never will as we need a light outfit to carry in the car for a daily set up.

Hi, the Zodiac came with the 25hp Bigfoot. I feel it’s a little underpowered for what I use it for but it runs great. The boat tops out at 22mph with 2 people and quite a bit of gear in it. Our Northern California ocean swell is large at times, we definitely don’t need to be anywhere near the top speed...

Thank you! I have dreams of deflating the futura, packing it in my truck and driving to Baja (Mexico)
Seems like a lot of work🤣

Ok I see you might get better performance re-propping, My Mercury sib and 25 Suzuki tops out at about 25 mph 10 1/4 x 11 inch prop for info

Thanks! I need to experiment with different props. I’m not sure what it has on it now. I’ll take a look tonight.
