Newbie, looking for 4.5-5m rib

Hello, we are new to the world of ribs (although we have PB2 and driven sailing club safety boats). We are after a rib to use as a safety/coach boat but also be able to take a family of 4 out for a jolly when the weather is good. We are based on the Solent so it needs to be reasonable in chop. We would like a 4 stroke engine and preferably 4.5 - 5m so its easier to tow and pop in and out, as we will usually use it 2-up. Budget up to £10k. The Ribcraft 4.8 looks good but they seem hard to come by and expensive. There are various Valiant, Humber, and XS ribs out there which apprear to meet requirements but which has the best hull shape? Hyperlon or PVC tubes? Any advice gratefully received!

Rib craft would be my first choice then Humber 10k is quite a good budget have you had a look at Orkney longliner 16 or a warrior 65 these would all be good for the Solent remember don't rush to buy take your time and have a good look around before you buy good luck HH

join the ribcraft owners facebook page a couple of 4.8M came up for sale recently, but sold quickly. You will need to move fast as 4.8M sell quickly, if they are in good condition

I have a 4.2 X-Pro Defender - 40 hp with low hours. About 80 - 90 from memory. Kept in Portsmouth drystack if you want to see her. Full electrics everything working and just serviced including nice trailer. Ali hull - nice and light for towing. Great in the Solent chop.

How does the X-Pro compare to a GRP rib of similar size ?
