Newbie moving to Scotland looking for help

Hi All,
First I would like to say thanks to the forum, wealth of info here.
I am a total newbie when it comes to boats, the dream of winning the lottery and having a Riva 88 Florida has failed to materialise, but the dream of being on the water is alive.
My wife and I are moving to the Highlands to be near her parents who are farmers approaching their 80's.
We have just started the purchase a beach house on the West Coast.
The House is across a road from the beach, with a 100yd cycle/walking path before an entrance to the beach. Total distance 150yds.
After doing much research I have honed in on the following.
Thinking of a Honwave T38 airdeck, and a Tohatsu 20hp (light weight), on two collapsable hand trailers, to pull across to assemble on beach.
Is this feasible.
Thanks.

Hi, welcome and lucky you! Not jealous at all!

Where about s on the West Coast?

Totally feasible, but 150 yards? Is it not possible to leave it inflated and use something like a launching trolley to and from the beach, or don't you have room to keep it set up?

Welcome to the forum!
Should be possible with wheels if it's relatively flat ground. I've got a tohatsu 20hp for sale if you're interested, doesn't sound like you'll be too far away from me either

Hello and welcome ExL Steve.

Nice to get the chance to live somewhere many of us on here only visit for a week or two on holiday.

What's the character of the beach... deep soft sand or firmer? Tide go a long way out?

Have you read the thread below which in post 77 has my final moving the SIB long distances setup...

https://www.rib.net/forum/f50/how-fa...s-71295-2.html

Depending on path width the SIB itself is the very best wheelbarrow for the outboard and kit so if you can set up at home and trundle as one. Any path about 1m wide or more should be sufficient.

T38 a good choice. Buy Roflhat's 20hp. He's well regarded on here and it's a very fair price, I reckon only not selling to date as he's so far north but you'll be half way there in your new location.
