Hi, folks, and greetings from the Scottish Highlands!
Just checking into the forum after my recent purchase of what might be the oldest Searider. Maybe? Serial number 00154. (Picture attached.)
Picked the boat up a couple of weeks ago from a chap near Newburgh in Aberdeenshire.
The boat needs work! It holds air very well: tubes still very firm after 2 weeks. I plan on overhauling the trailer first then carrying out a few gelcoat/GRP repairs to the hull followed by a flocoat to both.
The console/jockey seat combo will be replaced and a few instruments added. The engine goes very well as far as I can tell and the previous owner threw a replacement 'performance' prop into the deal which I look forward to using when the boat eventually hits the water (next summer?)
I'd also like to put a new rubbing strake on plus some wear patches, attend to some minor seam repairs then probably paint the tubes but am not fully decided on that.
I've absolutely no experience of ribs (what my wife unkindly refers to as 'blow-up' boats!) but built a rowing/sailing North Easter dory from sheets of marine ply and a set of paper plans. See here:

Look forward to interacting with you!
