Newby from Isle of Man

Hi All

Having just completed a Power Boat level 2 course, we are keen to get going and purchase our first RIB. The sea surrounding the Isle of Man (where we live) can be somewhat temperamental so we are looking for something between 5 and 6 meters that can handle a bit of rough water. We only plan to do coastal trips around the Island however would still like something that can handle a bit of bad weather, as it can change quickly. We have been advised that the Humber Destroyer / Ocean Pro range is good value for money with a deep V hull that can handle the waves however we are also interested in hearing about other makes / models that may fit our needs. Any pointers on where to start would be much appreciated.

Take a look at Highfield Patrol 6 or ideally the 660.
Great hull & capability.

Thank you all for your advise. We bought a very nice condition 5.4m Tornado with a Johnson 115 hp engine yesterday and towed it back to the Isle of Man. Once we have it registered it we will be taking it out on the water - hopefully this Thursday.
