Zodiac pro 2 420

Hi all.

I have owned my current rib for just over a year now and I'm now looking to upgrade as I've outgrown my zodiac already. Im not new to boating but not owned ribs for long.

RIBase
Welcome to the forum.

Zodiac Pro (had one myself) is a nice RIB, but its a shallow V hull and tends to slap in the rough stuff.

In answer to your query, then budget is everything. Also take into account, towing weight, storage and intended use.

I'm just back after a few days in Argyll near Mull. Beautiful area but launch area at Melfort Harbour slip was tight as a gnat's chuff, and manouvering my Ribcraft 4.8 by hand takes its toll. First world problems I know.

Anyway, enough of my ramblings. Be specific as to what you want, budget of course and you'll get plenty of pointers.

What motor do / did you have on the PRO 420. I wonder if you outgrew the boat, the motor, or both

Hi Brian

I am running a 40hp Yamaha 2 stroke and its a great motor. Been out for a blast today and did a fair few miles from Port Dinorwic out to Puffin Island and back and it never misses a beat. It is the size of the boat that is the problem as there just isn't enough deck space. A 520 will be much better suited to us as a family of four.

That sounds a lot of fun. I have a 360, soon to have a 420. It is usually just me or me and my wife out in the boat. When we have family with us, it gets very cramped, very quckly. Moving to a 520 - that extra metre will feel great. You'd probably want a 60 HP with it, though, for a similar performance? I am on the south coast. It must be so great to have Puffin Island to run to in your locale.

My 420 has a 50 on it, so it should be quite quick.

I will be looking for something like an 80 or 90 four stroke on the next boat.
I bet your 420 will fly with a 50. Mine will hit 35mph at wot but cruises lovely at 25 and isnt too bad on fuel to be fair.

Help with 2009 Zodiac ProJet 420 TC4

Asking for some help. I have a 2009 Zodiac Projet 420 TC4 that has been repowered with a Yamaha 130 Hp. Need help on 2 topics:
1) What does this hose with a quick connect attach to (pic 1)
2) Advice on where to thread wiring for forward nav lights.
