100mph boat, is it a rib?

Article says it has inflatable tubes.

Looks like the boat off top gear

Why, are you thinking of entering it in the Lymington rib race http://rib.net/forum/showthread.php?t=31897 ?

I'm not sure of the Telegraph's claim that it's the "fastest boat ever built" ???

tis the same as that P1 boat, the name of which escapes me. The inflatable bits are small tubes on the sides near the back which are supposed to help a bit with stability or something. You can just see the end poking out from the spray.

Says (British-designed vessel) I understood the XSR being the big brother of the XS 2000 Buzzi hull we race! (Ex Sunseekers P-1 boat)
Buzzi hull under the Sunseeker banner.
Italian designed.

Yeah, it'll be a Buzzi. The SBS guys have been working with Buzzi on a few projects.

Yes I agree but then again it also looks similar to the old Cougar boats from many years ago. They built something very similar for use in places like dubai.

Couldn't find a link but found a good discussion on the old Cougars.

Holy mother of god! If you didn't know that was coming you would jump right out your boat!!

I don't think it is really a true rib!! Bit lame on the tubes.!!

You're thinking of Kerakoll which became the Sony boat, and it isn't one of those! That was a Buzzi.

I went on board the test boat when I was exhibiting at the Sports Boat and Rib show and it was having a refit. Peter Dredge the ex RYA powerboat racing manager was involved this is the website http://www.xsmgworld.com/

I would have sworn it was one of these if they didn't say it was a British design

http://www.fbdesign.it/stab.php

Wouldn't say it was a rib, more a plastic boat with built in fenders :P
