12m Ribcraft (x2)

Giant Ribcrafts...Location: Tunis, Tunisia

Are these being marketed over on that side of the pond? (selling price is in US$ in this ad https://www.proxibid.com/aspr/Ribcra...emId=28797784#)

I doubt anyone over here will want to buy and pay for shipping. Maybe someone might need them who is closer

NO AFFILIATION TO SELLER - I JUST HAPPENED TO FIND THESE ONLINE

My SR7.4 isn't even here yet and now you made me lose interest in it already. Flight to Tunisia booked.

Just kidding....For now.

Im curious to know how much it would cost to get those moved out here.

Depends if they can fit in a 40' container. Tubes deflated, towers removed and boat angled in, might have to remove drives to fit inside container. If so, the shipping price would not be too bad. There's also the option of using a open "flat rack" container.

If drivable, you could always drive it over to europe.

$95K even much less with a good best offer for two ribs that don't look like in too bad of condition but they are sitting in the N. Africa sun. These could be cheap for someone in need of used 12m ribs.

In a news article about the Korean shipping company bankruptcy I was surprised and the price of shipping. Only about $2k US (or less even, don't recall exactly) for a container to it from China to west coast USA. East coast was a bit more but not much. Sounds like it could be affordable if you already got $100k to spare.

Bracket....triple 300+.....ttop......hmm....

I doubt they would fit in a 40' container but a flat rack would work, probably some out of gauge cost though.

Container shipping can be a real pain sometimes. Last year I helped load four containers of ribs shipping from US to Ghana. Depending on style of door not all container openings are the same. That made for an interesting loading of items. It amazes me that some of these companies claim rates are low right up till you try to book the shipment!

I found a little more info:

"Boats were purchased 2008, 12 metre ribs built to commercial specifications and powered by twin 275 HP Yamaha inboard diesels stern drives and single propellers. Power trim tabs provide lift for high-speed operation.

Cruising speed 20 – 30kts and top speed of 40kts
Fuel capacity is 2x70 gallons (600 litres) giving a range of approximately 250 nautical miles at 25kts.

Last tested and certified in 2014. They were turned on and run for an hour; the engines were checked, and everything was in good condition. They have not been tested since, and there is no documentation available for the inspection

Max Beam inflated 3.5m
Max LOA inflated: 12m
Freeboard/Total height including console, not towers: 2.1m"

I don't believe you.

Let me know when you have them in your yard. I'll come up and captain the second boat for sea trials.

They will not fit in container as they have foam walled tubes so will not deflate !
Got used for6 months fully maintained during that time but then taken ashore and the rest is history !!

Up apparently lots of ships full of cargo just floating around and nobody wants to deal with them

Well I guess that's bad news for potential worldwide buyers but the good news you won't have to spend the whole day with a foot pump to fill the tubes.

I will say looking at the photo's, particularly the stern shot and center console. The stern looks to be in excellent condition and the engine controls, dials and navigation almost look new. I wonder what would be a fair price for these?

Fantastic opportunity, I was talking to someone recently who's just bought a boat along that stretch of coast and was lamenting the lack of good training centres. If I had that sort of money would buy them and set up a school / safari company there !
