2 Islands in one day!

Well Sunday met up with my brother in law at Northney Marina with a plan to go to East Head to have a beach day as my eldest has a very bad knee injury and did not think I would get away with a day on the boat! So off we set at 10.30 pottered down to the sea, Holly laid out on the bench seat with her leg supported by blankets. Every one happy so thought we would have a rid out. All going well so kept going right round the IOW and Hayling island too. Great day out on the water with a picnic in Alum bay nice gentle run round the back of the island at about 20 kt but having to slow down once back in to the Solent at times as good old Solent chop was making it uncomfortable for the invalid! Stopped for refreshments just inside Langston harbour at the café on the right, them up through Langston round the top back to Northney only just enough water to get under the bridge but we made it and the tide was coming in.
After 61 miles round trip taking in 2 islands recovered the boats at about 4pm and headed off home after a great day on the water and I thought we where just going to the beach!

That's not bat at all, we did a similar trip a couple of weeks ago and used just under 70l, but it was very flat so found it hard to keep the revs down.

Thanks, but didn't take the family, the Mrs took the child to her show and so was out with a friend.

I think it will be a while before my daughter goes any faster than 10 knots, can't blame her really, she's not that happy about me going out!!
