At high water in the afternoon of Sunday 3 June 2012, up to a thousand boats will muster on the River Thames in preparation for Her Majesty The Queen to lead the Thames Diamond Jubilee Pageant.
It will be one of the largest flotillas ever assembled on the river. Rowed boats, working boats and pleasure vessels of all shapes and sizes will be beautifully dressed with streamers and Union Jacks, their crews and passengers turned out in their finest outfits.
But all of this does need some safety and marshalling provision and Northern Exposure Rescue has been asked to organise the safety cover for this event. So we are beginning to recruit a team of experienced RIB owners to volunteer their time to take part in this historic event.
NER is a charity and receive no money for organising this event but volunteers who are willing to spare some time will get their boat fuel and tow vehicle fuel reimbursed.
Yes it is a long way off and details are being still formalised but we are looking for around 40 ribs to help provide safety cover which takes some time. If you are interested in volunteering, then please register your interest on our website and we will keep you up to date with developments.

There also is a video explaining about the background of the event on the same web page. Please note signing up on the website is not a commitment to take part just to register interest.
Many thanks,
Chris
