2022 Season Start

Finally got to get the boat back on the water for the season yesterday

Cold early start, ice all over the boat when I hitched up at 06.00, but clear and sunny - but still very cold when I arrived at Brixham at 9.15. Water still very high 2 hours after HT.

Simple hassle free launch followed by a run across Torbay checking everything in full working order & engine running well after service. Bright, very cold NE wind, but little sea so all good. Really great to be back on the water and get some good fresh sea air.

Let's hope for some good weather over Easter.

It’s good to see someone getting out onto the water. My plans to get a run out when we had a warm spell last month we’re wrecked by the virus!
Ive launched from Torquay, but not from Brixham. Interested to know your thoughts on the slip and facilities.
I’m using a sib now, with launching wheels. I was trailer launching a larger boat when I used Torquay.

As a launch site for a rib on a trailer i prefer Torquay, far better angle on the slip and pontoon to tie upto. Brixham is a very steep slip and nowhere to tie up whilst parking trailer / car.
For a sib with wheels Brixham would work well, maybe even better as you can park before launching

Thanks for the info. I may give it a try, and have a day on the River Dart whilst down there. I’ve launched from Totnes a few times with the old boat, but not for a while.
Enjoy the new season

Oh nice, we were tied up with hockey otherwise would have come play.

We dropped into Plymouth last week for a first run during the nice weather, 22 miles totally inside the sound (nice but a f5/6 SE wind so grim outside 2 coffee stops, 1 cake stop and a panini later all was proven to be in good order

Joined a search for a missing wind surfer too, who happened to be on shore chatting, first time for the crew doing something other then enjoying the ride.
