The thread is "Yarmouth IOW for nachos - Sat 11th". See you on Sat, the weather is looking ideal for a great days boating.

Parking the trailer can be problematic at Lymington !!
A good place to launch is Christchurch, easy slip, good parking, plus if solent is too rough, you have the river to explore.

If you don't know the area Christchurch is a bent propellor blade just waiting to happen. Also access is restricted, I don't think you would get back in after the Nachos without a longish wait for enough water.
Calshot has plenty of parking and a nice wide slipway with access at all states of tide.

Good evening ,
The only reason I was going for lymington is because we are heading down there in two weeks and we thought it would be good to suss it out . I am totally in your hands Chris . You can either give me some contacts for the lymington mob and we can link up with them or we can just meet you at calshot .
I have no hang up either way , we have hooked up with everything we think we need and are setting off at 5.45am . It will be best part of four hours .
If you think calshot is best could you send me a postcode .

Calshot postcode is so45 1br.
You will be fine launching from Lymington or Calshot. If you go to Lymington then PeterM, MattH, or Landlord will be happy to help you launch. If you come to Calshot then I am happy to assist.
Don't attempt Christchurch as it's not suitable for someone's 2nd outing with no local knowledge.
You will have a fantastic day whichever place you decide to launch from.
Chris

I have personally never launched from Lymington but the Ribnet boys say it is good.
I believe Lymington has pontoons which makes loading and unloading crew easier. Lymington will be very busy as most of the ribnet guys are launching there tomorrow. Calshot will be quiet as only myself and Alex will be launching.
It's your call, you will have a great day at either venue.

You have talked us into it and as much as I am tempted to go for lymington I think the quieter location might suit . We can suss out lymington in two weeks . We will set off at silly o'clock and give you a ring at some point .
Cheers
Steve

I will be on the road by 0645 so feel free to call anytime after that.
I'm really looking forward to a great day on the water (first outing this year other than teaching on a pb2 course last weekend).

Have a great time, we'll be running something in Plymouth Good Friday if you fancy another day out.
Slight, by the way, means not a lot
