You're welcome Dave, I see you've sorted the lifting this year, no more tube squashing! Nice photos, keep them coming.

Been out again today, had an hour catching our tea, then went exploring sea caves. Touching 35deg on land, cooler on the sea. Water temp is 21.Click image for larger version

Glad you liked ‘em[emoji106]
Ooh! That reminds me, here’re some more from today. 28deg & flat calm seas. Blanked on the fish though, loads of small mackerel & some medium sized weaver fish, but none worth keeping.

PS, @Bigplumbs, speaking of “the fish”, your woodworking efforts would have come in useful that day, we ran out of charcoal[emoji6]

Yup, been here a couple of days, moving on to Salema tomorrow. The mornings have been calm but it picks up in the afternoon. Looking at the wind map, we’re getting the tail end of Miguel down here. At least it’s hot & not raining. Going on to Sagres & then working our way up to Setubal & the Troia peninsula. @madnessoftheseas has given me some pointers for Setubal. I’m sure I’ll be posting lots of photos[emoji6]
Here’s BP (no not that one, the real one) in her berth in Lagos

Thought I recognised the stacks/caves, shame about the fishing. Salema is a nice typical Portuguese coastal town, nice restaurants/beaches, I doubt you'll get BP in the water, don't think there's a slip, but I've fished the beach with some good results. The campsite is run by Jo who also runs the site I live on in Alvor in the winter, Anna will greet you at reception who also used to be at Alvor. Nice restaurant on campsite, the town is a bit of a treck from the campsite. Happy fishing at Sagres, I'm sure you'll do better. Grant.

Is it the “Surf & Eco camp” if so we’ve just found out it’s closed. Do you know of another? There’s an Orbitur in Sagres that’s our fallback plan.

We were down Tavira way earlier on, we’re working our way along the coast. I’ve been making use of the “AIS Silent” feature to keep off the radar of the local plod. We’ve got all the necessary paperwork, but they’re sure to find/invent summat to line their pockets. I only enable the AIS tx if it’s busy & we’re not fishing.

Good plan ........... Portugal is one of the few places that I have been 'nicked' twice ........ once for speeding (just North for Porto) , and the other for driving with fog lights on (near Albufeira, in peeing rain).

Haha, yes, understand the confusion, the Lagos on the Algarve is pronounced Largosh, (depending which part of Portugal you come from)!

Yes that's the one, just heard back from a friend in Alvor, typical Portuguese, shut the site in high season for refurbishment! Can't recommend anywhere on the way to Sagres unless you fancy wilding it with the hippy community at Praia do Barranco. No, ok, might as well go straight to Sagres for the big fish!
