Only half a metre in it. There's a lot of variables to consider in a 'race' tho. All I can say is I have been out in some moderately interesting seas in mine and its always been very confidence inspiring. To be fair the RCs do look very deep on the trailer.
Edit: not having even ridden in one I think the RC585 would be my ideal rib.
