Can't see it getting much interest without pics - how strange.

Looks like someone might get a bargain unless it's so rough it's better without the pictures!

I saw this a few days ago and phoned the seller. He sent me a very small pair of photos. It doesn't look that bad. Its been sat on a mooring for a while and the bottom needs a very good clean. The whole thing could do with painting. The engine runs and has just been serviced. It doesnt go into reverse (I suspect its a simple fix and may just be the gear link that needs adjusting) properly. There is a crack on the lower leg. This might be a bit worrying depending on the location and size.

Forgot to add that is has a few patches which have been done by the seller, badly (by his own admission). The port tube goes down totally after about 6 hours.

Might be a good fixer-upper for someone but I've seen an awful lot of those engines with no reverse. It may be a common fault...

Yeah a bit much considering it may need a new gearbox and a retube, not to mention no trailer with it.

Its nuts, people just seem to be uneducated about the value of things.....Having said that I have been ripped off a few times!
I had one of those Honda's except mine was the earlier 2HP model, sold it a few years ago for £250, so you did well, although I did only pay £200 for it

Another classic, this is going to be on the market for a loooooooooooooong time, surely a new one is half that, even if it is a special rescue edition?

I can't believe he wanted more than £10k for an inflatable. Doesnt even come with the trailer!!!! What keeps them in business; do people really buy their overpriced vintage gear?

I guess it'll just sit around and rot until someone takes it on for a tenner... or he'll get really lucky and a ship will need one in a desperate hurry.

One assumes so, they have been in business for a long time and have a huge amount of spares.
I have learnt in the past however that its best to buy the newest outboard you can afford, my little Suzuki 40 had a right little attitude problem and that was only 1992, just stupid little things, nothing serious but annoying all the same. I dread to think what a 1970's engine would be like. The Tohatsu is 2001 -runs like a watch, a little thirsty at times though.
