5.5 Meter Humber - What do I need to look for

I'm in the market for a Rib. Budget isn't huge, and I'm looking for something I can tidy up and make my own.

This has come up on EBay, and is close enough to home to warrant a look.

What do I need to look out for? I would look to replace the outboard..but I want a solid base from which to start.

Any advice gratefully received.

Seen that on gumtree with porous toobs and a sized engine looks like they cleaned it up and got the engine working. check the toobs carefully for leaks. Was up for £1000 with the seized engine.

could have been just leaky valves less than a tenner to fix but with the new info you need to have a look and if its the same outboard and its had a seizure consider it a consumable that probably will need replacing

Rear cone ends were leaking at the seams.

I'd be looking to change the outboard anyway, and if needed I would replace the tubes aswell. It's just close to home and my intended usage would only be for 4/5 weeks a year so I don't want to spend a fortune.

I'll see how the bidding runs and try to see it in person.

Tube pics are taken when wet so don't expect them to look that fresh and shiny in real life.
