50Nm & wife hasn't recovered!

Beguiled by the sunshine we took our XS650 from St Mawes round the Lizard to Porthleven for lunch. 25 Nm each way.

Sadly the mild forecast was not very accurate as a healthy south easterly set up some interesting chop around Lizard and Coverack peninsulas and although I loved every minute of it my wife is still complaining of a headache!

My 8 & 10 year olds enjoyed it with some chilly fingers and mild queasiness having eased by supper time.

But it was my first serious trip and the boat was magnificent: dry, stable, swift when conditions allowed and effortlessly 'weavable' through the heavy stuff.

And we went through a pod of 10 dolphins off Porthleven that played around and under us which was very special.

The missus' headache will be mild whiplash from the trip, that or the effect of the G&Ts she downed to recover[emoji12]

I maybe stating the obvious but be wary of your enthusiasm getting the better of you, if you want your wife to stay ribbing with you, don't frighten her each trip.

Sounds like you had a nice trip. I will second the comment "don't frighten your wife". I was out with my wife sailing and decided to have some fun heeling the boat way over while at speed. While I found great fun in the ride she has never set foot on a sailboat again. However, she still lover the power boats.
