Now c'mon Andrew You know that isn't true!

It was 44 Knots before it all got too wobbly, how lovely it was to have an opti behind me again. Have I ever mentioned I like those engines

Still more please

Particulalrly interested in 6.25 to 6.5 with 125+hp. This is where the data so far is richest and I might be able to publish some conclutsions - but all sizes over 5M and below 6.75M are welcome to post.

Thanks

Initial findings

Here is a graph - forgive excel to adobe pdf to photoshop translation but I can't post excel here - can I, JK?

It is of the 6.3 to 6.5 M petrol ribs in the survey, plotting HP vs reported WOT in knots.

More data please!!!!!!

XS 600 115 opti, 17" prop, 120l fuel, 2 people, 5600rpm, 41mph

I am trying a 19" prop in couple of weeks so will let you know the difference.

Rib-X 575 (5.8m) with Suziki 90HP

Did our top speed on Sunday trimmed right up and with the wind behind us at 40.2mph, me and two kids light fuel load.

Usually does about 38mph flat out not trimmed to high.

Went out in a Rib-X 650 with a 200HP etec at the Rib show. Got frightened at 52mph and slowed down still had loads left.

17.5' Aluminum Rib, Yamaha F115, solo, no dive gear, about 3/4 of a 50 gallon tank yields a speed of about 38 or so mph in flat water.
