No and nope to that one. As Chris says, you'll lose a bit of top end with a 4 blade prop and an extra 25hp isn't enough to gain an extra 2/3knots. Fiddling with props and jacking the engine might get you another knot or so, but you'll pay for it at the other end, pull-out/acceleration etc.

Oh well shame but at the least I should be a knot faster than you?
I think that Roy is a condecerning ribber, so I'll trust his judgement and leave it as it is I think.

Yep, in flat water you would be faster than me.

Yes I mistyped. I thought you could get a 23" Viper but you can't so ignore me, in fact you can't get a 23" Raker either
The Rebel Range that BRP produce is what you are after.
"Rebel TBX Size range from 15" to 25" pitch. This is a stainless steel 3 blade propeller that is designed and engineered to deliver improved midrange cruising speeds and top end speeds. Larger diameter and efficient blade contour provides faster speeds at lower RPM's to deliver significant improvements in fuel economy. Use the REBEL TBX propeller on offshore boats, large runabouts, and even larger pontoon boats to make them perform at their maximum potential. (available for v-6 15-spline in standard and counter rotation. now available in 1" pitch increments)"
However if you are happy with the 22" best leave it as prop fiddling can get very expensive

If you're after top end speed, then you would have been better off with the Solent.

Thanks Chris, I think I agree! I'll trust Roy's decision, I'm sure whatever I were to do it would wreak it!

Ram away.
The last guy to 'ram' a bigger engine advantage home to me used to soil his underwear the moment the sea state rose beyond 'slight'. I'm sure that you're not that sort of guy.

Did that used to be a 50hp advantage

Looking back over some of Roy's old posts on here there are multiple references to him wanting a 7.5 with the then-new 300 etec on the back, but I don't know if it ever came to fruition? He's mentioned to me that he's probably going to go for a 7m but with a less powerful engine and probably in Caraibe or ibiza

He did mention that he was rather 'underwhelmed' by the HO and would go for a straight Etec next time.

Maybe, but he put an HO on this one, which is a 3.4 litre block and therefore is more .1 of a litre bigger than yours boyo
He may be underwhelmed compared to the 250 because it is so much more expensive for not much power gain, but I've let him take that hit, and I 've now got a boat with a 250HO (which is, undoubtable more powerful than a straight 250 )

Does your Dad know that your spouting bollox on a grown-up's forum again?!
Now, be a good lad and don't put him in a position where he has to start sending off apologetic emails again.
Go and ask Matron for a nice cup of Coco and ask her to tuck you into bed as it's getting late.

Gotchiguy. As much as I am happy for you now that your dad has got his new boat you really need to learn some humility.
I know you are young and excited about your new boat but all that will end up happening is that the wealth of experienced people on this forum that could prove to be a great resource for you will just start to get bored with you and you won't get any help.
You certainly passed that point with me a few pages back.
Good Luck
